Geluiden kunnen onze stemming bepalen. We reageren anders op bv. ritmische zumba-muziek, die ons in beweging krijgt, dan op het kabbelende water van een beekje, dat ons tot rust brengt. Of we nu bewust of onbewust luisteren, ons lichaam reageert spontaan op geluiden en klanken.
Meer en meer is men ervan overtuigd dat, indien gericht gebruikt, klanken stress kunnen verminderen, een diep gevoel van welbehagen kunnen opwekken en zelfs een helend effect kunnen hebben. Men heeft o.a. vastgesteld dat ze helpen bij het verlichten van depressies of het vrijmaken van sinussen en kankerpatiënten helpen sneller te herstellen van chemotherapie.
Het idee dat klanken een invloed hebben op de gezondheid van lichaam en geest is niet nieuw. Chanting en mantra’s reciteren wordt al duizenden jaren toegepast door Hindoes en yogi’s om het helend vermogen ervan.
De klankrelaxatie maakt gebruik van dit effect van klanken en geluiden op lichaam en geest. Ze brengt rust en ontspanning, ze wekt beelden op, ze houdt je zintuigen vast, ze maakt je los van dagelijkse beslommeringen, ze … – ze is intimisme en verwondering, ze is overgave en waakzaamheid.

The 1st Asia – Pacific Breast Cancer Summit will be held in association with the 4th Singapore Society of Oncology & Chapter of Medical Oncologists Review Course; to be held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, February 11 – 12, 2012. With the optimal management of breast cancer rapidly evolving, a multidisciplinary team of medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, and plastic surgeons are routinely involved in offering treatment recommendations for individual patients with a diagnosis of breast cancer. With our panel of internationally renowned scholars as well as prominent loco-regional experts, this two day summit is designed to highlight the multi-disciplinary management of breast cancer integrating both the practical and latest state of the art treatment paradigms through plenary lectures, core presentations, and case-based panel discussions.
